Getting Started
How do I log food?
Tap the + button on the home screen. You can type a description (e.g. "2 scrambled eggs"), scan a barcode, or take a photo of your meal or a restaurant menu. The AI will identify the food and fill in the nutrition automatically.
Can I scan a restaurant menu?
Yes. Tap + and select the camera option, then point it at a menu. The AI will recognise the dishes and let you select what you ordered. This works with both physical menus and on-screen menus.
How accurate is the AI nutrition analysis?
The AI provides estimates based on standard portion sizes and nutritional databases. For best accuracy, be as specific as possible, e.g. "150g grilled salmon" instead of "fish". You can always edit any entry after it's been logged.
Skin Score
What is the Skin Score?
The Skin Score is a daily rating from 0 to 100 that reflects how well your recent meals align with your skin health goals. It's based on the skin triggers you activate in Settings. The higher the score, the better your food choices are for your skin.
What are skin triggers?
Skin triggers are food categories that are known to affect skin health, such as dairy, sugar, gluten, or processed foods. You choose which triggers to track in Settings. The app then flags meals containing those ingredients and adjusts your Skin Score accordingly.
What is the "Noticed something on your skin?" feature?
Inside the Skin Score section, you can tap "Noticed something on your skin?" to open an AI chat. Describe what you're experiencing and the AI will analyse your last 7 days of meals to identify possible food-related triggers. Always consult a doctor for medical concerns.
Subscription
How does the free trial work?
You get a 3-day free trial when you first sign up. No payment is taken during the trial. After 3 days, the annual subscription begins automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends.
How do I cancel my subscription?
To cancel, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone and cancel Neve Eats. You will continue to have full access until the end of your current billing period. Neve Eats cannot process cancellations directly.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. To request one, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and submit a refund request for your Neve Eats purchase.
Account & Data
How do I delete my account?
To permanently delete your account and all associated data, email us at support@neveeats.com with the subject "Delete Account". We'll process your request within 30 days.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in encrypted databases. We never sell your personal data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Is Neve Eats available on Android?
Currently Neve Eats is available on iOS only. An Android version may be considered in the future based on demand.
Can I export my food log data?
At this time, data export is not available directly from the app. If you need a copy of your data for any reason, contact us at support@neveeats.com and we will assist you.
Using the App
What is the streak and how does it work?
Your streak tracks how many consecutive days you've logged at least one meal. Each day you log food, your streak grows from 1 to 7. If you miss a day, the streak resets to 0. The flame icon on the home screen turns orange when your streak is active.
How do I set my calorie goal?
Your calorie goal is set during onboarding and can be updated at any time. Go to Settings → Calorie Goal and enter your desired daily target. The app will use this to calculate your progress and display your goal on the analytics page.
What is the Progress page?
The Progress page gives you a weekly overview of your nutrition. You can see your average daily calories vs. your goal, your macro breakdown (protein, carbs, fat), your Skin Score trend, and your 7-day streak — all in one place.
Can I track allergies?
Yes. During onboarding, or later in Settings, you can select food allergies and intolerances you want to track. The app will flag meals that may contain those ingredients during AI analysis.
How do I edit or delete a logged meal?
Tap on any meal on the home screen to open it. From there you can edit the quantities, nutrition values, or delete the entry entirely. Changes are reflected immediately in your daily totals and streak.
Does Neve Eats work offline?
An internet connection is required for AI-powered food analysis, barcode scanning, and skin concern chat. You can browse previously logged meals without a connection, but adding new entries with AI analysis requires connectivity.
Can I turn off notifications?
Yes. Go to Settings → Notifications inside the app to toggle reminders on or off. You can also manage app notifications from your iPhone's system settings under Settings → Neve Eats → Notifications.
AI & Technology
What AI technology does Neve Eats use?
Neve Eats uses OpenAI's GPT-4o for image-based food and menu analysis, and GPT-4o Mini for text-based food lookups and skin concern analysis. This ensures fast, accurate results for all types of food logging.
Are my photos stored or shared?
No. Photos you take or upload are sent directly to OpenAI for analysis only and are not stored by Neve Eats or OpenAI beyond their standard processing cycle. We never share your images with advertisers or third parties.
How does the skin concern AI chat work?
When you tap "Noticed something on your skin?" inside the Skin Score section, an AI chat opens. You describe what you're noticing on your skin, and the AI reviews your last 7 days of logged meals to identify potential food-related contributors. The result is informational only — always consult a qualified doctor or dermatologist for medical advice.
